Behind the Mic: The Story I Almost Didn’t Tell
I said yes to being a guest on a podcast… and I shared more than I ever have before.
There’s something about sitting behind a mic that feels different.
No perfectly curated visuals.
No retakes.
No editing out the hard parts.
Just your voice, your story, and the truth.
And this time… I didn’t hold back.
I had a goal on my 2025 bingo card: become a podcast guest
At the time, it felt simple.
I just wanted to check the box—share my story, talk about my business, and build a little more awareness.
I didn’t expect it to turn into what it did.
I reached out to hundreds of podcasts.
Wrote emails.
Sent voice notes.
Pitched myself over and over again.
I had recordings booked… and then cancelled.
Opportunities that felt close… and then fell through.
But I kept going.
And then finally—it happened.
When I got invited onto this podcast, I knew it wouldn’t be surface-level.
The conversation I almost didn’t have
We talked about my journey—from freelancing while I was still in school to building TE Media Creations into a full-time business…
…but also the parts I don’t usually share.
The year that almost broke me.
Emergency surgery.
Toxic work environments.
Self-doubt.
Outgrowing people I once felt so connected to.
That quiet pressure to play small.
It would’ve been so much easier to keep things light.
To just talk about the highlights—like working toward opportunities like Paris Fashion Week.
But that wouldn’t have been the full story.
What we actually talked about
This episode wasn’t about “overnight success.”
It was about becoming.
We talked about:
What it really looks like to take action before you feel ready
The mindset shift behind pricing your work with confidence
The grief that comes with growth (especially in friendships)
Why authenticity in content isn’t about oversharing—it’s about intention
And honestly… it felt like a conversation I didn’t know I needed to have.
We also plan whether you want trend-driven content or a documentary-style story. Most couples want a mix of both, so we check off key trends early in the morning before the real action starts.
What surprised me the most
I thought I needed to show up polished.
Like I had everything figured out.
But the most powerful parts of the conversation?
Were the moments I was just being honest.
Talking about the uncertainty.
The pivots.
The in-between seasons.
Because that’s where most people are.
Not at the finish line—
but somewhere in the middle of becoming.
Why this experience
meant so much
This wasn’t just about being a guest on a podcast.
It was about owning my story.
All of it.
The messy, the hard, the growth, and the moments that didn’t make sense at the time—but changed everything.
Because the truth is…
The same year that felt like it was breaking me
was actually building something bigger than I could see.
If you’re in your “in-between” season… read this
This episode is for you if:
You feel like you’re meant for more, but you’re not fully there yet
You’re questioning your next move
You’re learning how to trust yourself again
You don’t need to have everything figured out.
You just need to keep going.
Full circle moment
I’ve spent so many walks, drives, and quiet moments listening to podcasts.
So being on the other side of the mic—sharing my story like this—
It felt like a full-circle moment.
And a reminder that your story is meant to be heard… even the parts you’re still figuring out.
This is your sign.
Say yes before you feel ready.
Share your story—even when it feels uncomfortable.
Trust that where you are right now is part of something bigger.
